A Comprehensive Health & Nutrition Program
for Grades 5–10, Special Events, and Conferences
Program Objectives
Young adults who participate in THIS IS YOUR LIFE! will learn:

How to improve their eating habits by choosing a balanced diet to prevent obesity and promote lifelong health. |
|
How daily exercise helps reduce stress, build strength, and maintain a healthy weight. And, how to find activities they like to do, so they'll keep on doing them regularly. |
|
To discredit the narrow images of beauty promoted by the media and help them discover that "every body is different, and different is a great thing!" |
|
To address the health consequences of eating disorders, and to avoid fad dieting pitfalls. |
|
To stay tobacco-free and how to resist industry, media, and peer group pressures regarding tobacco and substance abuse. |
|
How they can prevent
osteoporosis, the bone thinning disease, while still in their teen years through healthy eating and exercise habits. |
|
To build self-esteem from the inside out, and understand that looking and feeling good is a result of healthy lifestyle choices. |
