Why FoodPlay?

We’re concerned about children, and what they are eating! Only 7% of kids in this country consume the recommended servings of vegetables, most are getting almost twice the amount of added sugar that’s recommended, and one in three are overweight or obese.  The average child sees over 10,000 food ads each year with the majority promoting the very food products we want them to avoid.

We know that healthy eating and active living can reduce the risk the leading causes of death and chronic disease in this country, as well as set children up to succeed at school, at play, and at life!  Starting healthy habits early in life is the best way to help kids make healthy choices throughout their lifetime! And, making healthy choices is not just good for our health, it’s good for the health of our planet!

It Takes a Village – Let’s Work Together!

We collaborate with school districts, community organizations,  and government agencies to create customized programs that address the unique and diverse needs of population groups in order to trigger school-wide excitement, engaging stakeholders to work together to create healthy environments with access to healthy food for all.

FoodPlay Productions’ programs and resources have been created under sponsorship by the US Department of Agriculture, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, and Departments of Public Health and Education throughout the country.
