- Susan Fallon, Health Coordinator, Triton Regional Schools, MA

Exciting, outstanding, captivating are just a few of the words used to describe This Is Your Life! For a full week after the presentation our teachers and staff were still handing out compliments!”

- Frances Boucher, Health Coordinator, Murdock Middle School, Winchendon, MA

It was awesome! It was so entertaining, practical, creative and innovative and it kept the interest of the students.  You all do an amazing job!!

- Esther Riopello, RN, School Nurse, Varnum School, MA

A wonderful presentation! The troupe was ‘in tune’ with the unique mind set of adolescents.”

- Kathryn E. Tucker, Housemaster, Blackstone-Millville Regional Middle School, MA

This Is Your Life! should be an annual health assembly for every middle school in the 21st century!Perhaps the greatest challenge in middle school education is to hold the attention of young adolescents, while at the same time, trying to communicate information in a meaningful manner. There is no magic potion that guarantees this result, but the ‘magic’ performed by your troupe came as close to the real thing as possible!”

- Al Jangi, Guidance Counselor, Williams Middle School, Longmeadow, MA

The reaction from our 9th & 11th grade student and faculty members was overwhelmingly positive! The actors kept the audience constantly engaged by their passion and wit. The issues dramatized are highly relevant to the physical and mental well-being of adolescents.”

- Henri Andre, Director of Health Education, Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, MA

Students in grades 6 & 10 were genuinely captivated by the amount of pertinent information offered to them in a humorous and engaging stylein your production of This Is Your Life! It left a lasting impression. The combination of wit, physical antics, and information presented in non-preachy style really hit the mark. I sincerely recommend FoodPlay Productions to any school system.

- Angela Caruso, School Adjustment Counselor, Provincetown Public Schools, MA

At the Annual NC School Nurse Conference yesterday, I had the opportunity to see FoodPlay Productions perform their show, This Is Your Life! It was FUN… very upbeat, fast paced, highly entertaining, thought provoking, health promoting, and educational. The play covered such important back to topics as Nutrition, Fitness, Self Esteem, Body Image, Eating Disorders, Tobacco Prevention, Osteoporosis and Media Literacy. They also offer resources like f/u tools for students, teachers, health staff, parents and the press. Their productions are Emmy Award Winning! All of it was done in the fast-paced, hip & cool style that adolescents love! In other words, they are a great model of how to make learning important health information FUN (& more memorable). Just wanted to share my enthusiasm for this group, and my thoughts about using them at your next Annual Conference.”

- Carolyn Sexton, Clinical Consultant for Systems Development, Children and Youth Branch, North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, NC

Teachers

The This Is Your Life! show is really useful will refer to it in future lessons about nutrition, biochemistry, and body systems. It will help to be able to say — ‘do you remember the skit about…’ as a way to launch a discussion. It reached my kids on a great level and reinforces what they know and will learn.”

- Lois Stratton, Easthampton High School, Easthampton, MA

Thank you for the opportunity to see This Is Your Life! The responses were overwhelmingly positive about the program. Please pass our comments to the performers—the students said they were hilarious–RIGHT ON TARGET! We encourage you to continue producing such shows, and we encourage Tanner Health Source to keep sponsoring!”

- Teresa Taylor, Central Middle School, Carrollton, GA

Thank you for the privilege of having the presentation, LiVe—This Is Your Life! at our school (March 2008). I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. I thought it had a lot of information and a lot of humor and fun to keep the students attention. I have noticed that at this age and in this fast paced society, it is hard to entertain kids, let alone teach them. This assembly did both! It was well written and well executed. It was my favorite presentation of the year and we were so lucky to have it. Thanks again for coming and I hope to be able to have you back next year.”

- Jennifer Yorgesen, Willowcreek Middle School, Lehi, UT

It was excellent. I thought the information and the format in which it is was presented was outstanding. It held students’ attention while giving them vital information that reinforces what is being taught in our health courses. Thanks so much for making this possible.”

- Cindy Lloyd, Indian Hills Middle School, UT

The students loved it! They said it was the best assembly we have had all year. A lot of these kids are experiencing so many body changes they need to know that their doubts and experiences are normal. The teaching resources that we received are great!”

- Natalie Barrus, Grantsville Elementary, UT

The assembly was awesome. The problems and issues are real and need to be addressed. The students were attentive, the actors were great, and it was a well organized event for us.”

- Barbara Bushnell, Bountiful Junior High, UT

Bravo! This Is Your Life! was the best presentation I have seen at the school. Our students are inner-city kids and do not easily give their approval to ‘talks’. They were riveted for the entire hour. The message was excellent and delivered with wonderful humor; again few people seem able to reach middle school students’ funny bones. This team did.”

- Teachers, Bartlett Middle School, Lowell, MA

Principals

What a great program. Thanks so much. We feel very fortunate to be one of the few schools to get this wonderful donation.”

- Principal Scott Jeppson, White Pine Middle, Richmond, UT

I have been impressed with the management of this program since the day I was first contacted. The performers were very much in touch with today’s teen (2008). The content was humorous, fast-paced, and relevant to the health issues of today. Our students loved it.”

- Larry David, Principal, Canyon View Jr. High School, Huntington, UT

We were very pleased with the results of the assembly. It was fun and informative, and I felt that the back to topics covered were very relevant. The parts of the presentation that starkly demonstrated how unhealthy common foods can be were particularly effective. I would definitely recommend the assembly to others.”

- Principal Anthony Godfrey, Midvale, UT

It is not often that two individuals can capture the undivided attention of 350 adolescents, but that is exactly what happened. The delivery was sharp, exciting, and definitely funny! The issues were right on target, and if 12, 13, and 14 year old boys and girls are talking about it, maybe, just maybe, they will be a little more empowered to resist the stereotypical images that the media bombards them with daily.”

- Kirsty B. Hebert, Vice Principal, Davisville Middle School, N. Kingstown, RI

This Is Your Life! will long be remembered by thousands of teenagers from Yuma County schools thanks to this innovative program! We brought This Is Your Life! to Yuma, Arizona to present this fantastic performance to almost 3,000 middle school students over the course of one week. This was an incredible way to reach thousands of students with positive nutrition messages in a creative, entertaining way that teenagers can identify with and enjoy. We continue to receive positive comments from teachers and parents to this day (five months later). If you’re looking for the best way to reach a lot of students on a moderate budget, this is the best way to go!”

- Lisa Medrow, RD, Nutrition Program Coordinator, Yuma County Dept. of Public Health, Yuma, AZ

- Randy S Brinkerhoff, Board of Education, Jordan District, UT

The glowing comments from the students and teachers are still coming in! A teacher said she couldn’t believe how many students were asking her questions after the show, and a seventh grader told her that she was making a promise to substitute all sodas with fruit juices! I also appreciated all the materials you provided in advance, including the teacher’s guidebook, press release and resource pamphlets.”
